Being a parent...

Being a parent is physically exhausting.
Every day Nora is doing something new.

Literally, every day.

It seems like just yesterday she was just taking her first steps and now she's running.

Yes, running. Not just walking, but running.

And she's fast!!

I can't keep up with her limitless energy.

She wears me out, but I love it! 

I am exhausted at bedtime and by 10pm I am about to crash in my bed, even when I don't have to work the next day.

Being a parent is exciting!
Nora wants to talk so badly.

She is so close.

She says:

up

bath

abuela

roar

boom

Ok...she may not actually say those words, but she's really darn close!

I promise.
I can't wait to hear her talking for real...except I have a funny feeling she'll never shut up once she starts.
Oh the things she's going to say, I can tell already!

Being a parent is being constantly amazed.

Nora's getting more teeth...again!

She already has the front 8 and all 4 of the first molars.

Now she is getting her first canine tooth on the top right.

Drool mania going on here...and a couple of restless nights.

This makes 13 teeth and she's not even 14 months yet!

Time to call the dentist (that's already on my list of things to do next week.)

Being a parent is stressful.
I don't know how to discipline a toddler.

How much does she really understand when I tell her "no" then give her a reason?

She seems to understand a lot of other stuff...when she wants to anyway!

She knows how to put things away when I ask her to.

She "tries" to put her socks and shoes on when I ask her to.

She gives things back to Amelia after she has taken them away, if we ask her to.

So why can't she remember that she can't play in the dog water and eat the dog food??

Being a parent is hard work.

Being a parent is wonderful.

Being Nora's mother is amazing.
