Since the moment Nora was born, we were anxiously awaiting her first words. Would it be mama or dada? When would she start talking? We were excited for those first words to come so we would be able to understand what she wanted and so her little personality could shine out!
Then she started talking....and with the talking came the personality.
This little lady is a stubborn little shit, like her mama.
A few months ago she started saying, "huh?" It is her backup word...for when she wants to pretend that she didn't hear you. For example:
Mom: "Nora, did you pick up your toys?"
Nora: "Huh?"
Dad: "Nora, are you going to put those books back on the shelf?"
Nora: "Huh?"
You get the idea.
This month we entered a new phase...the early stages of "the terrible twos."
Nora has learned to say:
No
Stop
Help
And boy does she use these words! I thought it would be great when she learned to say "help" so that she could ask for help when she wanted something or help doing something instead of whining and crying for it. But no...she says/cries/screams help when we are changing her clothes or her diaper and there are other people around. And it really didn't take her long to understand what "no" means! She throws that word around left and right! And she says it with such sass...she certainly is my child. I am sure my parents have some stories to tell!
The next year is going to be such an adventure and I don't want to miss a minute!
