I had my blood hCG level drawn this morning at work for the official pregnancy test. The hospital faxed the results to my Reproductive Endocrinologist, Dr. Hansard and her office called to let me know officially that I am pregnant!! Yay! They said my hCG levels are higher than expected...so that's good. They were still waiting for the progesterone level, but they will probably call me tomorrow with that. I will probably be getting weekly progesterone levels for a few weeks and then Dr. Hansard will do an ultrasound in about 3 weeks. I can't wait for find out more about the new little life growing inside me!
It is still really early in the pregnancy, but based on the method used to calculate gestational age, I am already 4 weeks pregnant. Shawn and I are so happy and excited! We have been wanting this for so long and now we get to start our pregnancy adventure...then we'll be parents! Finally!
I got Shawn a really cool book months ago (well...really it was almost 2 years ago) that I was going to give him when we got pregnant. It has been sitting in a box in our closet for all this time, but I did get to give it to him yesterday.
The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion: A Survival Guide for Expectant Fathers
When I first saw it I thought it sounded perfect! We'll see how it prepares him for the next 9 months :)
