I took Nora to get her ears pierced today!
I told people I was going to do it and I got some positive responses and some negative ones. I am a bit confused about the negative comments. Most people seemed to think it was barbaric/mean/inhumane/etc to do something so painful that was purely cosmetic. I have hard time understanding this coming from anyone that has a son that has been circumcised. It is a part of my job to regularly assist with circumcisions and let me tell you...those are painful! Way worse than an ear piercing! Not necessary, cosmetic, and painful. Do I judge people that circumcise their children? No. So why I am being judge for piercing my baby's ears?
She won't remember it.
She won't have to care for it while it's healing, I will.
It looks freakin' adorable.
End of soapbox.
Nora did great with the piercing. Mimi and the kiddos came with us so Mimi was able to take some pictures for me. Logan and Amelia did great watching. Logan did look concerned though. She did cry, and it was a cry I have never heard before. She didn't cry long though. I gave her some Tylenol and she took a nice nap. She's been fine since...hasn't touched her ears or even complained. My girl is tough :)
Back and home and playing in her Exersaucer. She is jumping so much now. She truly is a bouncing baby girl now!!
We decided to try a sippy cup for the first time with dinner. She grabbed it right away and put it to her mouth, but she couldn't figure out how to tip it up or how to suck. We'll keep working on it!
