Nora's had some great adventures since we started solid last month. She loved cereal from the first time! She made some pretty big messes in the beginning, but it didn't take her long to figure out what she was doing! We moved on to homemade first foods next, starting with sweet potatoes. She loved those too, as I blogged about a few weeks ago. It didn't take Marcie long to remember that the high chair means food for her. From the first minute we put Nora is there Marcie was sitting beside it waiting for scraps. Logan spoiled her when he used this high chair!
Since the sweet potatoes we've tried a few new things.
Green beans were a NO NO NO. I didn't give up after the first try though. 3 tries in all..and I think she swallowed maybe 1 bite :( She really did not like green beans. Maybe it was the texture? They didn't puree very well. We'll try again when she a bit bigger.
Peas she liked much better, although she wasn't sure at first.

I'm planning to try asparagus, squash, and peaches soon, so we'll see how that goes! I've been mixing the fruit into her cereal and she really likes that! Especially the banana. I am pretty sure that is her absolute favorite. She gets really mad if you don't spoon it into her mouth fast enough.
The funniest thing about her eating is that she "sings" the whole time. It reminds me of my Grandma Manning and how she says when food it so good you just have to wiggle your whole body and can't keep in the sounds of delight. That is Nora when she eats! It's hilarious. We just can't get enough of this girl.
