Nora is now five months old!
I can't believe it! The time is passing too quickly...there must be something disturbing the space/time continuum because my sweet baby cannot be 5 months old already.
But she is. Wow!
We do not have a doctor visit this month, so I am getting her weight and measurements myself. I know that it is probably silly, but I really enjoy seeing how she is growing each month! Maybe it's the NICU nurse in me? I know I don't really need to do it because I can tell she's growing like crazy! She's outgrowing her size 3 diapers...I haven't officially started the size 4 yet, but I really should! The size 3 diapers are getting tight! She's still technically in 6-9 month clothes, but I have quite a few 12 month outfits already that fit her better! The 6-9 months shorts/pants barely fit, mostly because of her monster thighs. So basically, she's a big, chubby, healthy girl!
Weight: 22 lbs 4 ounces
Length: 27 inches
Head: 17 1/2 inches
She's changing so much now too!
We just are so lucky to have such a happy baby! Her smile just makes our hearts melt every time!
- Nora still only rolls over occasionally, but she can roll from her tummy to her back if she really wants to. She is really trying hard to roll from her back to her tummy too! She can almost get all the way around, she just has some trouble figuring out what to do with her one arm. She'll get it soon I think! She can almost sit up on her own too!
- Nora has 2 teeth! She has handled teething really well, just getting kinda whiny occasionally during the day. But it really seems to bother her at night and she wants to constantly suck. So when she wakes up (which she usually does) instead of falling back asleep she fusses until you put her pacifier back in her mouth. Then she's right back to sleep...until the next time she realized she's lost her pacifier again. I shouldn't complain though because she still sleeps better than a lot of babies!
- Nora loves her cereal and first foods. Well not all the first foods. Sweet potatoes she loves. Green veggies are not her favorite yet. Goodness she makes funny faces when I feed her those! I will find one she likes though. I'm on a mission! I don't want to give her fruits until I find a few veggies that she likes, but it seems like this may take longer than I thought :(
- Shawn has taken Nora to the pool at the YMCA to help get her early swimming skills started and we still go to the pool with Mimi and her kiddos every Tuesday. Nora likes the pool much more now...probably because with the 100 degree heat here the water is warm! She splashes and kicks her feet under water. She doesn't mind when she gets accidentally splashed either! Shawn and Nora will be able to start real swim lesson together at the YMCA when she's 6 months old, which is just around the corner!!
- This girl LOVES watching TV. I don't know how Shawn has already managed to create a TV junkie out of our sweet daughter, but he has! If the TV is on she is turning her head to try to see it. When her favorite Baby Songs is on, it's like we're not even there! She ignores us completely! She also LOVES The Backyardigans. She watches intently. Daddy has already created a monster!
- Nora still loves her weekends home with Abuela or Daddy. She's so happy all the time and has the hugest smile whenever she sees them! She watches Marcie all the time too! She looks at the books when I read to her now and tries to grab them too.
We just are so lucky to have such a happy baby! Her smile just makes our hearts melt every time!
