My Little Blackhawks Fan!

As you surely know, Shawn and I love hockey and we LOVE the Chicago Blackhawks!  Going to NHL hockey games is one of the most fun things ever and we really would love for Nora to be a fan of the sport someday, so we decided to get her started early.  It helps that her Grandpa Don is a HUGE Hawks fan and has already given her lots of Hawks gear to wear :)

Shawn and I have tried to go to a Hawks game each year since we've lived in Texas by driving to Dallas and spending a night when the Hawks are in town to play the Stars.  We missed the game last season due to my being pregnant and then having a new baby.  This year we really wanted to go but didn't want to leave Nora behind, so we took her with us!  We went to see the local AHL team, the Texas Stars, in October to give Nora a test run and see if we thought she'd like a NHL game.  She loved that game so we were optimistic to try the big arena.

Lucky for us, the game in Dallas turned out to be on a weekday (good for us, since working weekends is our thing) and it was the day before my birthday!  So tickets were purchased and hotel booked...then Nora got sick.  Luckily it didn't seem too bad and we thought we'd go ahead and give the trip a go.  She did great at the game (the hotel afterward, not so much) and she really seemed to enjoy herself!  Here is a blurry picture but a great view of her fun!

She got a ton of attention at the game from all the fans, Chicago and Dallas fans both!  We were really hoping to get her up on the jumbotron, but no dice.  Turns out she was on the Fan Can on the televised game in Chicago though!!!  Woohoo!!

We hope to continue this yearly tradition with our little hockey fan!  Just look at how much fun she had...

First time down by the ice!

We hoped her cool sign would get her on TV...Thanks to Bryce for the idea :)

Game time...time to bust out the noice-reducing headphones.  She didn't mind them at all!

Those headphones must really work...passed out about 5 minutes into the first period!
