8 Weeks

According to my baby books and weekly emails, our baby is the size of a kidney bean now!  Wow!  The hands and feet are starting to form little webbed toes and fingers.  The "tail" is almost completely gone!  All those brain cells that were developing so quickly last week are not starting to connect, forming neural pathways.  Already!  So much changes every week.  I am still amazed my this transformation taking place inside of me.

It is still hard to believe that this is finally happening for us. Since we can't see that I am pregnant yet I am actually kind of relieved to have some of the typical symptoms...and besides the usual breast tenderness and extreme exhaustion (which I can handle) the nausea has hit me full force this week!  Yesterday was bad!  From the moment I woke up I was nauseous and burping like crazy!  I forced myself to eat a piece of bread on the way to work so I could take my vitamin, but after that I couldn't get anything else down.  It was like my hand just wouldn't put food in my mouth.  I finally ate lunch around 3pm and tolerated it ok...but I was miserable all day!  It was my 3rd day in a row at work (which I hate to do anyway) and I was tired on top of the nausea, but luckily we weren't busy.  When I got home I got in bed, put in Mulan and crashed!  Asleep around 9:30pm and I didn't get out of bed this morning until after 8am :)  Granted I woke up to pee 3 times so it wasn't exactly a full, peaceful night of sleep, but i'll take it!

Our first prenatal appointment with the OB/GYN is this week.  Everything is moving along well!
