Three months old!!

Nora is now three months old!!

There is no pediatrician visit this month, but I went ahead and did her measurements myself :)  We have to track the growth of this big girl somehow!

Weight: 17 lbs 12 ounces
Length: 25 inches
Head: 16 3/4 inches

She's still a very big girl, but her weight gain slowed down like we hoped it would.  She only gained 2 pounds this month, which is way better than the 5 pounds she gained last month!  She's still over the growth curve for her weight (>96%) but she's long too right about the 94th percentile!  We just have a big girl :)
She's changed so much this month!  She's wearing 3-6 month clothes, but some of those are starting to get tight already :(  I think we're going to move into the 6-9 month stuff before long.  She still is a great eater (as long as she's breast feeding) and is spacing her feedings out quite a bit during the day, only eating about 4 times a day.  She's been sleeping through the night for the last 3 weeks, which is awesome!  On a typical day she wakes up between 6-8am then goes to sleep right around 10pm for the night. She doesn't take long naps during the day though, more like 30-45 minute naps here and there, but she's not crabby or grumpy so she must be getting enough sleep.  She's a joy all day!  So happy and talkative, and rarely fussy.  She is starting to enjoy tummy time more and can really hold her head up high!  She swats at her toys on her activity mat and occasionally grabs them too!  She's also started drooling, so we may see some teething starting soon.  She is really enjoying her bath time now too, kicking and splashing. She doesn't mind at all if her face gets wet.  Maybe we can take her swimming soon...Shawn is so excited for that!

I went back to work this month so Nora spends the weekends with her Abuela now.  They are having a blast together :)  Since mom lives with us it made it really easy for me to go back to work because I don't have to wake her up and take her anywhere!  She just sleeps until her normal time and then spend the day with her Abuelita in her own house!  Couldn't be better....except that she hates bottles.  This may be the explanation for the smaller weight gain.  She doesn't really eat much while I'm working, and I'm gone for 14 hours (on top of her having slept all night).  She can't be too hungry though or she would take the bottle better.  She is improving though and this past weekend she took 2 whole bottles on Sunday.  Yay!  She'll get it figured out and realize she can't just wait for me to get home to eat!  Pumping at work is a huge pain, but I'm getting that all sorted out too.  I learned a few tricks from people at work that have done it and it is getting much more routine.  I'm still making a TON of milk too.  I could easily feed 2 babies with the amount of milk I make, which is probably why Nora is gaining weight so quickly :)  I'm storing it in our deep freezer though so if I don't end up using it I will donate it to the Mother's Milk Bank in Austin.  We use milk from them all the time for our babies at work and I would be glad to be able to make a donation when Nora's done breast feeding.

We've been parents now for 3 months and I still can't believe it!  I still love just holding her and watching her sleep.  She's such a joy and we are both just head over heels crazy about her!  I can't wait to see what she does this month...
