I've had 9 weeks now with my baby girl. I have loved every minute. Even the minutes that are difficult, I still love them. Now that I only have one more week before returning to work, I am realizing how precious every second truly is. Nora has changed so much since she was born...and I can't wait to see how much she continues to change!
We had such a hard time getting breastfeeding going. I was so upset that it was so hard and we just couldn't seem to get it to work without causing me a ton of pain. Then I discovered that she was terrible at taking a bottle! Luckily, I have finally discovered a bottle that she can use and breastfeeding is easy. Obviously, she doesn't have trouble eating...have you seen how chubby she is?!? The bottle that finally worked is the Playtex Original Nurser. It is the Drop-In style but with the latex nipple. I haven't seen it in any stores, so I got it from Amazon after reading on a parenting blog that it has been rated as a top pick by mother's for breastfed babies that had trouble with bottles. So far it is working. She'll only need it while I work, but I was starting to worry since the Avent bottle was a disaster for her and the new Medela Calma nipple didn't really help either (plus it is REALLY expensive) and the slow flow nipple from work was ok, but the nipples were single use and you can't buy them expect for in bulk (like 300 at a time on amazon!). Anyway, this Playtex bottle has really saved the day!
Then Nora was so fussy! She would have a period of time everyday where she would cry, and I mean really cry, for an hour at least and no one could make her happy. She had a terrible time with gas pain (thank goodness for gas drops!). Now she's such a happy girl all the time! Always smiling and talking to us. She really rarely cries :) I did have my first adventure with projectile vomit the other night. Not sure what brought it on, but she was kinda whiny and crabby so I fed her and was going to put her to bed when she decided to vomit everywhere! All over me. It was nice ;) She immediately felt better though and starting smiling and talking again, then decided she wasn't ready for bed after all and was up for another hour. The joys of parenthood. As soon you think you've got it figured out, she throws a curve ball! I'll happily catch them all though!
She's been super happy this morning too. So I decided to get some pictures on her in the sock monkey sleeper before I change her clothes for the day, or she poops in it! She needs multiple wardrobe changes daily due to poop escaping her diaper!
So...here is a good morning from Nora!
Here is the beginnings of a girl and her best friend...Marcie!
She's loves her some doggie kisses! That's my girl!
