This day will forever be etched in my memory.
Why?
This was the day that Shawn and I officially started our journey to parenthood thanks to the physicians at the Texas Fertility Center. This time one year ago I was sitting at home wondering if I would see the word "pregnant" in 2 weeks. I was nervous, anxious, excited, and above all I was so scared that it wasn't going to work. I wanted so badly to be a mother, for us to be a family, and I was worried that all our work, struggle and stress was going to be for nothing. I can't even begin to describe my emotions when I saw "pregnant" on that test...the day I started this blog!
I will forever be grateful to Dr. Hansard and her team for helping us through the hardest time in our lives and giving us hope. TFC made our dream of parenthood a reality! Infertility is much more common than people know but it has such a negative connotation that those struggling all feel like they're going through it on their own. No one wants to talk about it, but why not? It is so important to talk about it! I am not going to pretend that our years struggling with infertility were not terrible. I have never been so depressed, disappointed, sad, miserable...you name it! And I know Shawn was going through a similar range of emotions, but we never gave up, we made it through and we stayed strong together. TFC made it happen for us and RESOLVE (the national infertility support group) helped me keep my sanity. And look at what we have now...Nora!

Every time I look at Nora, our miracle, I am still completely overwhelmed by my happiness! She is such a joy! My favorite moment every day is going in to get her in the morning and seeing the huge smile on her face when she sees me. My heart melts every time! I didn't know it was possible to love so much! She has made us a family and I am beyond happy about that every day!
I wrote the following message to Nora on the day I started this blog:
Baby: Know that your mom and dad tried so hard and went through so much to get to this point and we already love you more than you could ever know!
This has turned out to be oh so true!!
