Nora is now four months old!
We had a visit with Dr. Garza for a check-up and vaccines. Nora did not like her shots...but she did great and is now totally passed out napping. Dr. Garza said Nora looked great! She is large for her age in all areas (not just weight!) so she looks more like a 6 month old. She is meeting all her milestones and we can start introducing cereals soon! I think Nora will like that. Dr. Garza is not concerned about Nora's weight. She said that she is obviously chubby, but she should start to slim down as she starts getting more active. She told me to keep doing what I'm doing in terms of her breastfeeding and not to worry about her weight. Nora only breastfeeds 4 times a day and she is still not a huge fan of the bottle so Mom has dubbed her weekends with Nora "Slim-down Saturday and Sunday." She must be getting enough though...check out these numbers!
Weight: 20 lbs 8 ounces (>95%)
Length: 25 1/2 inches (91%)
Head: 17 1/4 inches (>95%)
Nora has been changing so much!! She babbles constantly and is such a happy girl. She loves to smile and interact with everyone. She is not the greatest napper during the day, but she sleeps 9-10 hours every night so I don't complain. I put her in her crib last night for the first time and she did great! She woke up a few more times than usual, but all I had to do was give her the pacifier and she was right back to sleep. She is really enjoying tummy time now and she purposefully reaches for her toys now! She is also reaching out and grabbing my hands and touching my face. She likes to check herself out in the mirror too. She rolled over this month one night, but we haven't been able to get her to do it again. We'll keep trying! She drooling like mad and sticks everything in her mouth, so I think there may be a tooth or two in the near future! Overall, she is just a joy to be around and we still can't believe how lucky we are to have her!!
Such a happy girl!
