100 Happy Days

I am sure all of you have heard about the 100 Happy Days challenge by now, but if you haven't I will fill you in.  It was basically a challenge to see if you could be happy for 100 days in a row.  It was basically about a moment each day of our hectic, busy lives to be happy.  It live in the moment and not be 'too busy' to be happy.  The challenge is to submit a picture every day of some moment that made you happy.

Like a lot of people, I did not finish.  But, it was certainly not because I did not have happy moments everyday.  I am happy everyday.  I have many faults, but being happy and showing that I am happy is not one of them!  You can even ask my coworkers...even when we have crazy, busy days and I am being trampled by unhappy staff, families, other departments, physicians, etc, I am still happy and always wear a smile!  There is a reason for that and it is largely because I do try to find the the joy in each moment.

Anyway, I wanted to share a bit of what did make me happy over my #100happydays!

Like I mentioned, my work makes me happy.  Even when the corporate office is doing crazy, irrational things that have immediate negative effects on me, I still love my job.  I absolutely LOVE being a nurse and particularly being a NICU nurse.  I love my coworkers and I am very proud of the work we do in our NICU.

There are many random things that I am happy about.  Just simple moments.

I am always happy about food...and Starbucks!

I am happy about my sweet Marcie Moo!!  This dog is really special.  She truly is.  She is such a sweet girl and she loves me so much.  More than anyone else in this world love me, I am sure of it!  She also loves Nora.  Granted, I think it is because she can tell how important Nora is to me, but whatever the reason I don't care.  She loves my daughter and that is something that makes me incredibly happy!

I am happy to be a Blackhawks fan and that we are giving our girl an early taste of hockey life.  We'll be taking her ice skating soon!!

I am happy for my family.  Amelia and Logan are about the sweetest nephew and niece anyone could ask for and I am so, so grateful that Nora will be able to grow up with them!  I am happy that I have loving parents and siblings that I can count on!  Plus, I have a pretty amazing husband.  So many things to be happy about!

Now we get down to what really makes me happy.  I'll be you can guess it...

 Nora!!

This girl makes me happier than I ever thought possible!  She is amazing...truly!  I still can't believe that she is here and that she is mine.   She has the sweetest little soul.  She is loving and gentle and so so so happy!  She makes the funniest faces and does some pretty hilarious things.  I almost can't remember life before she came along!  What did I do to entertain myself?  If ever there is a moment that I am not happy, all I need to do is think of this little girl and I am happy again.  She makes my life complete and she makes me a better person!  I love being her momma!

So that sums up my 100 Happy Days.
