We've made it 39 weeks! It's almost time...like really almost time now!
As much as I have been wanting this whole pregnancy/labor/delivery thing to be as natural as possible, we decided that with the large size baby I was growing we would need to discuss alternative plans. We knew we would be getting an estimate of her growth at the doctor today, so last night we talked about what we would choose to do depending on her size. We figured if she was 9-10 pounds we would talk about being induced. Well...the ultrasound showed that my fluid is still high (but not horrible) and she is measuring approximately 10# 2oz...yikes! Now, that is an estimate remember. An estimate that could be off by a pound...in either direction! Meaning she could be 9 pounds, but she could also be 11! OMG! So we talked to my doctor and decided that being induced is the best option at this time. I still want to try to do as much as possible without intervention, but we're going to do whatever she needs, whatever that may be. My doctors are perfectly happy to let me attempt labor and if I can do it and she can handle it, then we will do it! If at any point it looks like she's not gonna tolerate the delivery or we think she's not gonna fit (yikes again) then we'll have to do a C-section. So we start the induction tomorrow and head to the hospital Wednesday morning :) So right now it is looking like she'll be arriving on Wednesday!!!
I am so excited! Like crazy excited!
In related news: We got a new car. We needed something bigger than my tiny Scion xD (even though I loved my little car) so we got a GMC Terrain. So far we love it too! There is a ton of space in the backseat and I am already totally in love with the bluetooth :)
Here is the car with my 39 week belly (and my incredibly swollen ankles...pedicure scheduled for the morning tomorrow). We decided to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate the baby coming and our last night or so of freedom. Red Lobster was delicious :)
Here is the extra-large belly again!
So the next update will likely be a picture of our new baby and our hospital adventure!!!
