If you know me at all, you know I love Christmas Trees. I love to put it up early and leave it up as long as possible. Once I got my own place in college I got my own tree and I have spent my adult like making my tree special.
Growing up, my family never put up our Christmas tree until after my birthday (which is Dec 11) in an attempt to help separate my birthday from Christmas. I totally appreciate that effort they put into this...but as an adult I do the total opposite! Also, growing up our Christmas tree was "ode to my children" and was full of hand made and mostly totally ugly ornaments. I hated that. So own Christmas tree always had blue and white lights and the ornaments were mostly silver, blue, white, snowmen and snowflakes. Beautiful. As my old roomie Shannon used to call it, my "Colts" tree :) I can't find any old pictures right now though, boo!
Anyway, my mom and Shawn both loved the multi-colored lights random ornament crazy tree, so I have been overruled in recent years. Typically, we put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving and get all the Christmas decor up over the next few days. However, this year I am scheduled to work the 4 days after Thanksgiving. So, I put up the tree and lights early (with Nora's "help") then Logan, Amelia and Nora helped decorate on Thanksgiving Eve. It was a blast and the kids loved it!

I'm so glad that Christmastime is here!
