Crafting and Cooking

I have been busy sewing again.  Shocking, right?

I made an apron for Nora and one for Amelia!  I couldn't get Amelia to wear hers for a picture, but we're going to bake Christmas Cookies tomorrow, so hopefully she will and I can get a pic of the girls together in their aprons.

You can't really tell in the picture, but the patterns on her apron is little gingerbread men ad candy canes.

I also made a Holiday Table Runner and I am working out the tweaks on silverware place settings that coordinate. I made the table runner reversible and I think it turned out pretty cute!

My favorite project recently is my hockey jersey bag.  One of my favorite Hawks players (Patrick Sharp) got traded to the Dallas Stars this year.  I wasn't sure what to do with my Sharp jersey, particularly since we live in Texas and the only time we get to watch the Hawks play is in Dallas...which we do every year.  So, I decided to make my jersey into a bag and now when we go to the game in February in Dallas I can support Sharp while still supporting my Blackhawks and getting more use of my jersey!!  I didn't have any kind of patter for this bag, I just used the dimensions of the jersey and tired to make it work.  I love the results!

I made a pocket inside from the patches on the shoulders of the jersey.

The side panels of the bag were made from the sleeves.

I'm pretty impressed with my own skill ;)  hehe
