Learning to swim

For those of you that know Shawn at all, you know that he is basically a fish.
He loves to swim.
Loves the water.
Loves the beach.
I don't dislike swimming, but I prefer to lounge in the water and not actually "swim."  I am able to swim though...I had swim lessons when I was a child (Thanks Dad!)

For all these reasons, we decided Nora should start swimming lessons early.  We've been taking her to the pool since she was just a few months old (basically as soon as it was warm enough out) and she likes to be in the water!  We finally found a swim class that she could start in, so every Saturday in October Shawn is taking her to infant/toddler swimming lessons at the YMCA.  It's a slow start, but there is a little boy in her class that is just 2 days older than her who started the classes a month earlier than her and he is so comfortable in the water already!  He splashes like crazy and kicks his legs and pushes/flings himself off the side of the pool into his dad's arms!  I hope Nora is doing that is 5weeks!  She is doing well though after her 2 lessons.  Shawn takes her (since I work Saturdays), and I was sad that I was going to miss all her lessons :(  So I took a vacation day last Saturday so I could tag along.  I don't know if me being there was good or bad though, because Nora was tired and every time she saw me taking pictures she would fuss.  The time of the class isn't great either because it smack in the middle of her morning nap time!

She is doing well though and we're going to take what we learn and keep it up with her!  If Shawn has anything to do with it she'll be swimming on her own in no time!

Look at our little lady enjoying swim lessons with her daddy :)
