Shawn and I have tried to go to a Blackhawks game in Dallas every year since we moved down here. It didn't work out last year because I was pregnant, so we really wanted to try this year. Luckily, there is a game in Dallas this year the day before my birthday and it's a weekday! Perfect! We decided we wanted to take Nora with us so she could start loving hockey early...but I wasn't sure how she would handle the noise/cold/chaos, etc. So we thought we'd try her out first by taking her to the local AHL game, the Texas Stars. Shawn and I have gone several times over the last couple of years and its really fun and inexpensive. This time we actually got our tickets free (Thanks HEB).
So last night we took Nora to her first hockey game. She LOVED it! I was so surprised! She didn't cry at all. She was looking all around at the people, the people skating on the ice, and the lights!
She was dancing, clapping and waving her arms around too! It was pretty loud though, so we got her some awesome noise reducing headphones. She didn't mind them at all. She actually seemed more relaxed after she had them on!
She had a great time and I can't wait to take her to a Blackhawks game! She also got lots of compliments on her Kane jersey :)
